“Motherhood is the greatest thing and the hardest thing.” – Ricki Lake
We find ourselves, almost a full 12 months on, facing another Mother’s Day under lock-down conditions. For many, it has been a tough year, whether restricted to the home to isolate safely, having no work, or more work, working from home, or, horror, home-schooling (like Sinead who is struggling with not being a teacher, and thinks that teacher’s everywhere need a big raise!) …..Mum’s everywhere have worked extra hard this year.
For others, in Adonis too, 3 of us are missing our Mum’s due to distance, being in another country, or like Siobhan, who’s mother is sadly no longer with us, or for whatever reason, makes lock-down a bit harder too.
With that in mind, this year for Mother’s Day, the Team at Adonis decided to take inspiration from their lovely Mothers and design a collection of bouquets using their favourite flowers, and naming each bouquet after their mother;
“The Andrea” – designed by Kat – with french inspiration from childhood memories
“The Barbara” – designed by Jean – a sunny bouquet inspired by her artist mum
“The Kathleen” – designed by Mark – evoking Victorian cottage gardens
“The Grace” – designed by Tomi – inspired by the stunning Argentinian landscape
“The Joan” – designed by Siobhan – in loving memory of her garden-loving mother
“The Margaret” – designed by Sinead – a cheerful bouquet inspired by Donegal spring gardens
A lot of emotions and thought went into this process, but we think you will love this collection as much as we do. And if you choose to send one of these bouquets to a special mother, or mother-figure in your life, know that it will be sent with love from us too.
